Is There Any Light?

Eyes skimmed through
the trending searches on Google
Oh, another one!
May their souls rest in peace
The wise brain started speculating
Who was he?
Black or White,
Asian, American, or Middle Eastern
Who were they?
All possible combinations of
race, religion, and skin color
The subconscious tricksters sneaked in
adding nationality and immigration status
into the speculative mix,
The thoughtful mind
couldn’t take it any longer!
Jumped right in:
“Folks! The reasons were mental health
and the gun culture”

About the Poem
